Arteastiq - Tea Lounge and Art Jam

Went to Arteastiq – Tea Lounge for some tea with my buddy.

We are tea lovers and had been exploring all sorts of places for good tea.  Arteastiq is located at Mandarin Gallery in the heart of Orchard Road!

Address:  333A, Orchard Road, Singapore 238897 with opening hours:  11am- 10.30pm.  Do check out their website for more information.

When we first entered the tea lounge, we were greeted with the pleasant ambience of the lounge and staff.  We chose sofa seats.  Honestly, I am not too fond of low seats and tables, as I find it a hassle to eat properly and get uncomfortable easily.  But I like the fact that, I can have close and personal conversations with my buddy whilst sitting of the sofa seat.

They offered tea time sets- for 2 people.  Unfortunately, I ain’t too fond of smoked salmon.  Otherwise, it does look appetizing from the menu.  We ordered sandwiches instead, she ordered turkey ham sandwich and I ordered chicken sandwich.  There were ice cream on the menu but I have yet to try it!  We did not dare to order too much as we were afraid that we could not finish all the food.

The Chicken Sandwich served together with salad.  I like the raisins that they had added into the sandwich, otherwise it was like any usual sandwich that we can get outside.  The surfaces of the bread were slightly burnt – not too much of my liking.  My buddy like her Turkey ham sandwich though.

The Onion soup (soup of the day) that we ordered was awesome!  I really enjoyed that bowl of soup and almost wanted to order another extra bowl of it.  No melted cheese was added and the taste was not too empowering.  Just nice for my liking =)

The best for the last is of course, none other than tea!

We ordered Lychee Tea and Plum Tea.  It was served in a glass teapot and cup, along with tasty biscuits and sugar cubes.  The tea served was nicely brewed and I must say, it was very fragrant and subtle.  The texture of tea was light and was very suitable for tea-time. I tried both pots of tea, and both different tea have very gentle but rich tasting flavour of lychee/plum.  We did not need to add sugar cubes into our tea even!  Just slowly sipping and enjoying the cup of tea.

The ambience was comfortable and we sat there for 2 hours plus chatting away and slowly sipping on our tea.  However, I thought it was expensive for the whole meal as it cost us about 70 bucks for just tea, sandwiches and soup.  Nevertheless, it’s the good experience that counts.

Just beside the tea lounge , there is an art jamming place where all materials are provided at Arteastiq.  There was another occasion where I dropped by with my boyfriend to release all the stress we had, drop everything and painted for 3 short hours.  I must say, I truly enjoyed the session and had so much fun doing art.  Honestly, I have never tried painting on a canvas before, and I have never used acrylic paint before.  It was a good experience and the next time I go for painting again, I believe I can paint better.

Arteastiq offered an art session with 50×50 cm cotton canvas and unlimited flow of acrylic paint!  Paint palette and aprons are provided!  One session is $48 per pax, and it includes a free arteastiq lite speciality beverage, one set of brushes and a takeaway wet paint canvas box.  It is attractive to me because if you don’t have acrylic paint, brushes, canvas at home, and you decided to paint.  Buying all these materials home, will cost more than $40!  Not to mention, you have to clean everything up!! >.<

The materials that they provided were new and the whole place was set up in a very comfortable manner to let your creativity and imagination flow!

We both ordered English Breakfast Tea that morning because we went for the 11am to 2pm session, and oh boy, the tea was good!  Served in a very durable paper cup.  We both agreed that the session was fun and if we had time, we would come back for more painting!

Edwin:  " Aren't you gonna hurry paint?"

Me:  "  No, sit back and enjoy this cup of hot tea first"  *I was even shaking my legs and watching him paint*

Edwin:  "oh...."

20minutes before the session ended.....

Me:  "Gosh, should have painted all the way non stop! NO more time left!"  *I was hurrying to complete it like crazy!*

Edwin: "hahaha"

Well, I thought I had ample timing to complete it.  It was just like secondary art exam right??? HAHAHAHA! I was wrong... the canvas was huge and definitely needed more time as my picture was rather detailed and I did not manage to fill details in for the fairy's dress, hair and wings!  It looked completed on the surface but my details were yet to be filled in.

The mess that we kinda created after painting.  So if you like painting, or just for fun, do have fun at arteastiq art jamming studio.

Cheers,
Roxanne
